NRA Basic Home Firearm Safety
Description The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is the basic course recommend to anyone interested in obtaining a pistol permit in Massachusetts and Florida.
In this four hour course students will get the NRA's Home Firearm Safety handbook, pamphlets on safety and terminology and lessons on the rules of safe gun handling, identifying and unloading various firearms, ammunition, cleaning, and storage. Students will also get hands-on experience with the most common types of handguns, rifles and shotguns.

Lessons: • Rules for Safe Gun Handling • Identifying and Unloading Different Firearms • Practical Exercises in Safe Gun Handling • Types of Ammunition; Cleaning and Storage of Firearms
Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for taking this course and the material can be understood by mature people of all ages. Application for a concealed weapons permit is strictly limited to those people meeting the age requirements set forth by the State you will be making an application to. Massachusetts certificates will only be issued to persons 21 years of age or older with a valid pistol permit from their home State.
In addition to the Basic Course we will go over Massachusetts Firearm Laws, Fill Out your Application and explain the process and the additonal States where you will be able to legally conceal carry your firearm. The Massachusetts LTC is only valid in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Florida Concealed Weapons Permit now is honored in more States ANY OTHER PERMIT. Florida permits are honored in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming.
What you need to bring: Note Taking Materials(Pen and Paper) Lunch or a Snack State ID(Drivers License, Pistol Permit)
We will supply the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Application and a link to fill out your Florida Permit application will be emailed to you. This course meets the requirements for a Massachusetts LTC or FID Permit and a Florida Weapons Permit. Classes are taught by Jim McCarthy-NRA Certified Instructor and Certified Massachusetts Instructor.
Course Completion Students will receive feedback on the practical exercises and a course completion certificate. Massachusetts certificates will only be issued to persons 21 years of age or older with a valid pistol permit from their home State.
